Navigating the Ontario Trillium Benefit

Taxes, Calculator and Glasses | Source: Images_of_MoneyLike many of you I’m sure, I’ve been working on preparing my tax return for the year, and as a resident of Ontario, I’ve been trying to figure out the new Ontario Trillium Benefit. What is the Ontario Trillium Benefit? Well, the Ontario Trillium Benefit is a new program from the Government of Ontario which combines three old tax credits into one, including:

  • the Ontario Sales Tax Credit
  • the Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credit
  • the Northern Ontario Energy Credit

What is the Value of Time?

We’re all guilty of thinking about it sometimes. The classic scenario is the employee who can choose to either get paid for overtime worked or bank his or her overtime to be taken as time off later. It launches the classic argument – what is the value of time? Does it have a monetary value? Is time worth more than money? Every person will answer this question differently based on their personality, their priorities and their attitudes.
